We recently had a Dyson DC25 come in with a common issue—low suction. The customer mentioned that despite cleaning the filters and checking for blockages, the vacuum still wasn’t performing as it should.
After a quick inspection, the problem became clear that the filters needed to be replaced. Over time, the pre-motor and HEPA filters can accumulate dust and debris, restricting airflow and significantly reducing suction power. Despite being washed, eventually they will need to be replaced - Filters dont last forever.
Here’s what we did:
Filter Removal and Cleaning: We removed both filters and replaced. The pre-motor filter, in particular, was packed with fine dust, that can not be fully washed out.
Sanitising the Filter Housing: Using an antibacterial cleaner, we cleaned the filter housing to ensure a fresh start.
Checking for Secondary Blockages: we inspected the airways and brush bar—everything else was clear.
The Result?
The DC25 was back to peak performance, delivering powerful suction as it should. The customer was thrilled and left with a fresh-smelling vacuum.
