  • Why Cleaning Your Vacuum Cleaner’s Filters is Essential

dc33 with both filters Your vacuum cleaner works hard to keep your home clean, but if you don’t maintain its filters, it won’t perform at its best. A clogged or dirty filter can reduce suction power, cause overheating, and even shorten the lifespan of your machine. Why You Should Clean Your V acuum Filters Regularly 1️⃣ Maintains Suction Power  – A clean filter ensures your vacuum picks up dust and debris efficiently, keeping your floors and carpets spotless. 2️⃣ Prevents Overheating  – When airflow is restricted by a clogged filter, the motor has to work harder, which can lead to overheating and potential damage. 3️⃣ Improves Air Quality  – Vacuum filters trap fine dust and allergens. If they’re clogged, these particles can get recirculated into your home, affecting air quality and aggravating allergies. 4️⃣ Extends the Life of Your Vacuum  – Regular maintenance prevents excessive strain on the motor, helping your vacuum last longer and saving you money on repairs or replacements. How Often Should You Clean or Replace Your Filters? 🔹 Foam and washable filters  – Rinse every month and allow to dry completely before reinserting.🔹 HEPA filters  – Depending on usage, some need washing, while others should be replaced every 6-12 months.🔹 Paper or cartridge filters  – These usually need replacing rather than washing, so check your vacuum’s manual for guidance. At Falcon Tech Solutions , we recommend washing your filters regularly  to maintain performance. However, over time, washing will no longer be enough, and the filters will need to be replaced to ensure your vacuum continues working efficiently. • Solving Low Suction on a DC25 – The Filter Fix

dc25 dyson We recently had a Dyson DC25 come in with a common issue—low suction. The customer mentioned that despite cleaning the filters and checking for blockages, the vacuum still wasn’t performing as it should. After a quick inspection, the problem became clear that the filters needed to be replaced. Over time, the pre-motor and HEPA filters can accumulate dust and debris, restricting airflow and significantly reducing suction power. Despite being washed, eventually they will need to be replaced - Filters dont last forever. Here’s what we did: Filter Removal and Cleaning: We removed both filters and replaced. The pre-motor filter, in particular, was packed with fine dust, that can not be fully washed out. Sanitising the Filter Housing: Using an antibacterial cleaner, we cleaned the filter housing to ensure a fresh start. Checking for Secondary Blockages: we inspected the airways and brush bar—everything else was clear. The Result? The DC25 was back to peak performance, delivering powerful suction as it should. The customer was thrilled and left with a fresh-smelling vacuum. If your vacuum is losing suction, don’t forget to check the filters! Need help?
